County Cavan is blessed with numerous lakes and gently flowing rivers. It's said that the county has 365 lakes - that's one for every day in the year! As a result Cavan offers first class angling facilities, so anyone keen on fishing will feel right at home here.

Cavan also offers spectacular scenery, excellent golfing facilities, equestrian trails...basically everything you want for an action packed holiday away from the hustle and bustle.
County Cavan, often referred to as Ireland's premier angling location, is an ideal spot for the keen angler. Riverrun Self Catering Holiday Homes are right on the banks of the Shannon-Erne waterway so you're in for a real treat here.

For coarse fishing the waters can be fished all year round. The rivers and lakes around the county hold good stocks of Bream, Trudd, Roach, Pike, Perch and Trench and there are also plenty of opportunities for game fishing for brown trout.

There are also a number of annual festivals held throughout the county with angling as a central theme, the main one being the Festival of the Erne in Belturbet, held annually at the end of July.
